What you need to know:
- The Sunday morning service begins at 10:15am.
- Groups for Children and Young People are available every week.
- Refreshments are available after the service.
- We have a friendly welcome team - if you need anything please just ask.
What's it like?:
The style of the service is fairly informal with contemporary worship music and all age elements at the beginning before the children and young people go to their groups. The service is often, but not always, led by the Vicar or Curate (Trainee Vicar) and church members participate in other elements of the service including prayers, preaching and bible reading.
You can catch up with some of the talks from Sunday Mornings on our Media page.
A group of people gather to pray before the beginning of each service at 9.40 am in Room 3 (A member of the welcome team will happily point you in the right direction).
When do you do communion? On the third Sunday of every month.
Can anyone take communion? We normally say that if you normally take communion in a church you are welcome. Otherwise, you are welcome to come to the front, keeping your hands down, and someone will pray a short blessing with you.
Do you do all age services? We try to make every service fun and accessible, but when a month includes a fifth Sunday we tend to do a specific all-age service.
Can I get baptised, baptise my child, get confirmed, have a funeral or get married at St John's? Yes, but to find out more information please contact us by using the contact page.
Can I attend Sunday@7 as well as the morning service? Yes but Sunday@7 is a fresh expression of church and not just an alternative service. It has a separate and growing congregation that you are welcome to be a part of.
